Born in Jerusalem, Goni started training at the age of eight in the youth department of Beitar Jerusalem. In 2015, he moved to the youth team of Maccabi Tel Aviv. After two years, he signed with Hapoel Katamon, a Jerusalem-based fan-owned club that managed to reach the Premier League and "adopt" the name of the mythologic Hapoel Jerusalem.
